Geneseo Public Library District 
Board of Trustees Meeting 
November 14, 2022

The Board of Trustees of the Geneseo Public Library District met in Foundation Room A at the library on Monday, November 14, 2022. Board President Karen Turner called the meeting to order at 6:29 p.m. Members in attendance were Karen Cathelyn, Lee Fluck, Janet Klavohn, Paul Pardo and Ray Rogers. 

Citizen's Input  Don Beck expressed concerns that the Board should consider adding onto the library before embarking on the proposed garden project. He was thanked for his comments. 

Secretary's Report  The minutes from last month's meeting stand approved as printed. 

Financial Report/Bills to Be Paid   Paul made a motion to pay the current bills. Ray seconded the motion and all members in attendance voted "yes" by roll call vote. Paul moved to approve the Financial Report. Ray seconded the motion and all members in attendance voted "yes" by roll call vote. 

Happenings at the Library   Claire reported that a patron's car hit the bike rack. Claire knows a contractor who will fix it; the patron will pay $100. Sheilah Wigant-McGee brought the bookends; after discussion, Karen T. moved that they be sold for $100/pair. Karen C. seconded the motion and all members present voted "yes" by roll call vote. 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS 

Trees.  Steve's Nursery will be planting the trees in several weeks. 

Christmas Party   Details about the party were discussed. 

Budget  Lee made a motion to give the staff 5% pay raises and Paul seconded the motion. All members in attendance voted "yes" by roll call vote. Paul made a motion to give the staff bonuses. Karen C. seconded the motion and all in attendance voted "yes" by roll call vote.

 
NEW BUSINESS 

Tax Levy   Jim presented the board with the final proposed Tax Levy. Karen C. made a motion to accept and present the Tax Levy to the County. Ray seconded the motion and it passed with all in attendance voting "yes." 

Adjournment  With no further business before the Board, the meeting adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
