Geneseo Public Library District
Board of Trustees Meeting
March 14, 2022

The Board of Trustees of the Geneseo Public Library District met on Monday, March 14, 2022 at the Geneseo Public Library in Foundation Room A in Geneseo, Illinois.  Treasurer Lee Fluck called the meeting to order at 6:28 p.m.  Members in attendance were Karen Cathelyn, Carol Luciani and Paul Pardo. 

Citizen’s Input   No citizens were in attendance.

Secretary’s Report   The minutes from last month’s meeting stand approved as printed. 

Financial Report/Bills to Be Paid     Paul made a motion to pay the current bills.  Lee seconded the motion and all members present voted “yes” by roll call vote. Paul moved to approve the Financial Report.  Carol seconded the motion and all members in attendance voted “yes” by roll call vote. 

Happenings at the Library    Claire has applied for funding through the Henry County American Rescue Grant that if received, could pay for the sculpture out in front of the library.  

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Sculpture   It was decided to postpone making any decision on purchasing the sculpture until next month.

NEW BUSINESS

Roof   Pat Mahar explained the role of a project manager on a roofing project.  He also provided some drawings for a possible landscaping undertaking that would enable patrons to read outdoors when the weather is nice.  The project could also include a tree memorial that would provide a wind break. Lee made a motion to hire Pat as the roofing project manager.  Carol seconded the motion, and all members present voted “yes.”  He will contact Sterling Commercial Roofing to find out what their status is with regards to a projected start date.  

Adjournment   With no further business before the Board, the meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
