Board of Trustees Meeting
June 9, 2025
The Board of Trustees of the Geneseo Public Library District met in the Foundation Room at the library on Monday, June 9, 2025. President Karen Cathelyn called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm. Members in attendance were Sally Eberhardt, Lee Fluck, Jim Henson, Jan Klavohn and Monica Vorac.
Citizen’s Input
There were no citizens present.
Secretary’s Report
The minutes from last month’s meeting stand approved as printed.
Financial Report/Bills to Be Paid
Monica moved to pay the current bills. Lee seconded the motion and all members in attendance voted “yes” by roll call vote. Lee moved to approve the Financial Report. Sally seconded the motion and all members in attendance voted “yes” by roll call vote.
Happenings at the Library
The Butterfly Garden sign looks great. The Building & Maintenance Tax must be passed.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Reading Garden
Pat Mahar gave us the information as to the bids for the concrete and the canopy. Karen moved to hire Creative Curb for $17,800. Monica seconded the motion and all members voted “yes.” Sally moved to accept Mike Bellovics’ bid for $,750 for the metal roof canopy. Lee seconded the motion and all members voted “yes.”
Christmas Party
The Christmas Party for the Board of Trustees was discussed.
NEW BUSINESS
Swearing In/Oath
Tom Domino was sworn in as a trustee.
Audit
Jim Luikart discussed the difficulties with the library audit.
Building Maintenance
Monica moved to accept and publish the Building & Maintenance Tax of 0.2, which is not a new tax. Karen seconded the motion and all members voted “yes.”
At 7:31 pm the Board moved into Executive Session. At 7:42 the board came out of Executive Session.
Adjournment
With no further business before the Board, the meeting adjourned at 7:43 p.m.
