Board of Trustees Meeting
June 10, 2024

The Board of Trustees of the Geneseo Public Library District met in Foundation Room A at the library on Monday, June 10, 2024. Board President Karen Turner called the meeting to order at 6:28 p.m. Members in attendance were Karen Cathelyn, Lee Fluck, Jim Henson, Janet Klavohn and Monica Vorac.

Citizen's Input

Misty Wilson addressed the board as a proponent of children's programs.

Secretary's Report

The minutes from last month's meeting stand approved as printed.

Financial Report/Bills to Be Paid

Karen C. moved to pay the current bills. Karen T. seconded the motion and all members in attendance voted "yes" by roll call vote. Monica moved to approve the Financial Report. Karen C. seconded the motion and all members in attendance voted "yes" by roll call vote.

Happenings at the Library

There are two new chairs for the interactive table by the big North window; they are perfect for those using laptop computers. Pat Mahar staked out the reading garden. Claire received a $2,500 grant from Dollar General for Summer Reading, $850 RAILS Grant for the lnservice Training and $5,004 for an Internet grant. A Per Capita Grant of $19,266 was received from the State of lllinois.

Children's Room

There are four new colorful chairs, a table plus two rockers.

Reading Garden

Pat Mahar presented sketches of the revised entrance to the Reading Garden. Karen C. moved that a fence be erected for under $25,000; Lee seconded the motion and all members present voted "yes" by roll call vote.

Technology

Lee Calabria discussed the outdated WiFi and security issues. Monica moved to accept Ironclad IT's proposal to upgrade the WiFi/security for $14,420.76. Jim seconded the motion and all members present voted "yes" by roll call vote.
