Geneseo Public Library District
Board of Trustees Meeting
January 12, 2026

The Board of Trustees of the Geneseo Public Library District met in the Foundation Room at the library on Monday, January 12, 2026. President Karen Cathelyn called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. Members in attendance were Tom Domino, Sally Eberhardt, Lee Fluck, Jim Henson, and Monica Vorac.

Citizen's Input

Paul Kane was present.

Secretary's Report

The minutes from last month's meeting stand approved as printed. 

Financial Report/Bills to be paid

Jim moved to pay the current bills. Monica seconded the motion and all in attendance voted "yes" by roll call vote. Monical moved to approve the Financial Report. Karen seconded the motion and all members in attendance voted "yes" by roll call vote. 

Happenings at the Library

Anna has successfully completed certification for cataloging. Claire has called and emailed Odoni Partners LLC about our audit and not heard back from them. Our meeting rooms are being booked often. Sheilah is creating a large caterpillar of the Reading Garden and the art groups are working on the storybook benches. 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Reading Garden

Pat Mahar received two bids for the masonry work on the pergola. Tom made a motion to accept Brett Yoder's bid of $17,380. Lee seconded the motion and all members in attendance voted "yes" by roll call vote. 

NEW BUSINESS

Tax Assistance 

The volunteers that provided tax preparation are no longer doing it; patrons are referred to AARP in Moline.

Donor list

Donations for the Reading Garden continue to come in. 

At 6:37 pm the Board went into Executive Session. At 6:53 pm they exited Executive Session. 

Adjournment

With no further business before the Board, the meeting adjourned at 6:54 pm.
