Geneseo Public Library District
Board of Trustees Meeting
February 9, 2026

The Board of Trustees of the Geneseo Public Library District met in the Foundation Room at the library on Monday, February 9, 2026.  President Karen Cathelyn called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm.  Members in attendance were Tom Domino, Sally Eberhardt, Lee Fluck, Jim Henson, and Monica Vorac. Jan Klavohn was absent.

Citizen’s Input

Paul Kane was present.

Secretary’s Report 

The minutes from last month’s meeting stand approved as printed. 

Financial Report/Bills to Be Paid     

Motion to pay the current bills made by Monica Vorac, seconded by Sally Eberhart. All members in attendance voted “yes” to pay the current bills.   Motion to approve the Financial Report made by Tom Domino, seconded by Karen Cathelyn. All members in attendance voted “yes” by roll call vote.  

Happenings at the Library   

The furnace room is being cleaned out. United Way and AARP are taking tax appointments at the Moline Public Library. A woman Claire knows is in a group that will recommend and plant native flowers that we purchase for our Reading Garden. Rewards from our Visa bill are used for prizes for Sandy’s children’s reading programs.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Reading Garden

Claire reported that the architect is working on the surround seating. Sheilah Wigant-McGee is working on the book benches for the children. 

NEW BUSINESS

TMI

Rob Schmit from TMI spoke about the maintenance agreement and answered questions about the heating system. Our agreement expires June 1.

Audit

Dante Odoni was not in attendance; the audit was not ready.  He will come next month with the audit. 

At 6:55 pm the Board went into Executive Session.  At 7:14 pm they exited Executive Session.

Adjournment   

With no further business before the Board, the meeting adjourned at 7:16 p.m.
