Board of Trustees Meeting
December 09, 2024

The Board of Trustees of the Geneseo Public Library District met in Foundation Room A at the library on Monday, December 09, 2024. Karen Turner called the meeting to order at 6:26 p.m. , Members in attendance were Karen Cathelyn, Lee Fluck, Jim Henson, Janet Klavohn and Monica Vorac.

Citizen’s Input

Elizabeth Schuler and David Jost were present.

Secretary’s Report

The minutes from last month’s meeting stand approved as printed.

Financial Report/Bills to Be Paid

Monica moved to pay the current bills. Karen C. seconded the motion and all members in attendance voted “yes” by roll call vote. Karen T. moved to approve the Financial Report. Lee seconded the motion and all members in attendance voted “yes” by roll call vote.

Happenings at the Library

Mary Jayne Nash submitted her resignation; she is retiring effective January 17. Dolly Parton's Imagination Library has been well received. The Reading Garden sign is up.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Children's Room

Several new items arrived.

Reading Garden

Pat Mahar suggested a door be installed for the garden until spring comes. Karen C. made a motion that a bid for less than $25,000 be accepted. Janet seconded the motion and all members in attendance voted "yes" by roll call vote.

Tax Levy

Was voted on last month and was recorded at the courthouse today.

NEW BUSINESS

Technology

Lee reported that all of the new staff computers are installed. The old computers will be donated to Good Will. The computers in Genealogy and Pod 2 are old and will need to be replaced.
