Opioid overdoses can occur anywhere—at home, at work, or in public spaces—and knowing how to respond can save a life. In this free program, Kareem Washington, Naloxone Grant Coordinator at the Robert Young Center, will explain how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose, when and how to administer Narcan (naloxone), and what steps to take while waiting for emergency medical services.
Participants will also learn about the current overdose epidemic, the basics of opioids, and important safety procedures. The presentation will conclude with an opportunity for questions and discussion.
This program is presented free of charge by the Robert Young Center in partnership with the Geneseo Public Library District.
