The Geneseo Public Library District is pleased to announce an upcoming presentation by Pubali Kundu, Assistant Director of the River Valley District Library and a member of the Illinois Library AI Ambassadors.
Kundu brings both professional expertise and creative insight to the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence. In October 2025, she presented at the Libraries Count RAILS Data Conference, where she demonstrated how generative AI can be used to analyze qualitative survey data—helping libraries transform community feedback into meaningful, actionable insights.
In this engaging and informative session, Kundu will explore practical applications of generative AI tools in both professional and recreational settings. Attendees will see live demonstrations of chatbot and image generator outputs, followed by a thoughtful comparison of the quality, strengths, and primary use cases of several leading AI tools and models.
Beyond demonstrations, the presentation will also address important ethical considerations surrounding artificial intelligence. Topics will include bias in AI systems, authorship and intellectual property concerns, privacy implications, environmental impact, and strategies for responsible implementation in library and community environments.
As both a librarian and a creative professional, Kundu regularly incorporates generative AI tools into her daily work to enhance efficiency, creativity, and data-informed decision-making. Her presentation promises to be both accessible and thought-provoking, offering practical insights for professionals, students, and curious community members alike.
This program is free and open to the public.
