All ages are encouraged to come to the library to learn more about the upcoming solor eclipse on August 21, 2017. An interactive presentation will explain and model how a solar eclipse occurs. Learn where it will be possible to see the eclipse in totality. Attendees will receive eclipse viewing glasses and eye safety intructions.
Tuesday, July 25 at 1:00-3:00 pm - Hands-on Science for grades 3-5
Hands-on activities will explain the sun-earth-moon relationship and the conditions that cause an eclipse of the sun. Children will be involved in modeling both solar and lunar eclipses in a number of engaging activities. They will receive eclipse viewing glasses and intructions for eye safety. Let your child be your guide to the solar eclipse on August 21.

Monday, August 21 at 12:00-2:30 pm. - Eclipse Viewing Party! - pick up your free pair of eclispe glasses and safety instructions for viewing. The eclipse will begin at approximately 11:50, reaching maximum at 1:15, and over by 2:40 pm. Please remember to protect your eyesight, do not look directly toward the sun during this time.
